Job Title:                           HR Business Partner

Reports to:                    Global HR Manager

Location:                       Remote (within Canada)

 

The HR Business Partner is a key member of the global Human Resources Department at ILSC Education Group and will be responsible for providing strategic advice, building and maintaining proactive partnerships with leaders, and championing our global HR processes, initiatives and projects. ILSC Education Group currently has operations in the following countries: Australia, Canada, India, Ireland and the USA with both union and non-union employees.

 

This role will be provided a portfolio group to support, along with the requirement to support global HR employee relations matters, including investigations and any other high-risk HR matters as required.

 

Reporting to the Global HR Manager, the HR Business Partner will support all HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, HR training, performance management, employee and labour relations including investigations, offboarding and HR reporting.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Oversee HR initiatives and employee and labour relations for the assigned portfolio group, ensuring consistent global policy application and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to ILSC Education Group management and employees on all HR matters.
  • Assist in resolving workplace conflicts and fostering positive relationships.
  • Lead global HR projects and continuous improvement efforts, including identifying gaps and making recommendations to HR leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with local labour laws and internal governance, including maintaining and updating local policies and procedures, and delivering manager or employee training, as required.
  • Drive organizational change management initiatives.
  • Use HR analytics to measure program effectiveness and guide decisions.
  • Collaborate with the payroll departments on employee matters and projects, such as collective agreement interpretation, benefits administration, leave management and payroll discrepancies.
  • Adhere to company and legislated confidentiality and privacy regulations.
  • Some national and/or international travel may be required.
  • Additional job-related projects and duties as required.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Minimum five years of previous experience in a busy Human Resources position is required, preferably in a multi-country and/or multi-brand environment.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management is required.
  • A combination of education/experience may be considered if it directly relates to the position. 
  • Knowledge of Canadian employment laws and regulations is required.
  • Knowledge of Australia, EU and/or USA employment laws and regulations is an asset.
  • Preference will be given for experience in a unionized environment.
  • Proven ability to influence management and key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with leaders at various levels of an organization.
  • Must have experience independently leading employee relations investigations.
  • Must have experience independently leading employee training sessions (both remote and in-person).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to support operations in multiple locations/time zones.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with ADP WFN or BambooHR is an asset.
  • HR professional certification is an asset.


Compensation and Benefits

$80,000 - $100,000 per annum

Comprehensive health benefits through SunLife, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), as well as participation in the company’s RRSP matching program. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
