Working Student: Internal Developer Platform (f/m/div)

Your Role Key responsibilities in your new role * Develop and maintain Backstage plugins: extend the Internal Developer Platform with new frontend (React/TypeScript) or backend (Node.js) plugins for the developer portal * Build scaffolder templates & field extensions: Create and improve Software Templates that automate project bootstrapping (repo creation, Kubernetes config, API registration) * Improve the service catalog: add entity processors, annotation support, or custom catalog pages to enrich the internal software inventory * Test writing: Write unit tests (Jest) and end-to-end tests (Playwright) to maintain code quality * CI/CD & infrastructure: Help maintain GitLab CI pipelines and Kubernetes manifests under the k8s/ directory Your Profile Qualifications and skills to help you succeed * Education: Currently studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field * Experience & Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with TypeScript and React (including course projects or personal projects); Comfortable working with Git and a basic understanding of CI/CD workflows; Ability to read and navigate an existing codebase independently * Tools: Familiarity with Backstage or similar developer portal/platform engineering concepts, experience with Node.js backend development; Exposure to Docker/ Kubernetes basics; Knowledge of REST APIs and OpenAPI specs; Experience with test frameworks (Jest, Playwright) would be an advantage * Soft skills: Curious about developer tooling and internal platforms, Proactive communicator, and autonomous * Languages: Good command of English Contact: Catarina Meireles #WeAreIn for driving decarbonization and digitalization.
