What You’ll Do

  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair specialized utility stringing equipment, including tensioners, pullers, generators, hydraulic systems, and related field assets.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, diesel, and control system issues using diagnostic tools, OEM schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, hydraulic systems, VFDs, controls, and low-voltage DC circuits.
  • Support field operations by traveling to project sites for equipment inspections, repairs, troubleshooting, and technical assistance.
  • Uphold safety and quality standards by conducting inspections, following OSHA and company procedures, and supporting safe work execution.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service documentation, parts usage, and equipment history through digital systems.
  • Manage or support parts inventory to ensure equipment readiness and minimize downtime.
  • Communicate clearly with field supervisors, operators, safety teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding equipment status, repair needs, and operational risks.
  • Work in both maintenance shop and outdoor field environments, including active construction sites, remote locations, rugged terrain, and challenging weather conditions.
  • Support other maintenance, field, operational, safety, documentation, and startup needs as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational/technical certification or associate degree in Diesel Mechanics, Electrical/Mechanical Technology, Heavy Equipment Repair, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy industrial, construction, utility, mining, agricultural, or similar heavy equipment.
  • Experience with conductor stringing equipment, such as TESMEC, Condux, PullzAll, or similar cable-handling machinery, strongly preferred.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and repair up to 480V three-phase electrical systems, controls, VFDs, and low-voltage DC control circuits.
  • Strong knowledge of open and closed-loop hydraulic systems, including component removal, resealing, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of diesel engines, powertrains, braking systems, generators, and heavy-duty mechanical systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, especially under field conditions and time-sensitive operational needs.
  • Ability to clearly document repairs and communicate technical issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL or ability to obtain a CDL within 90 days preferred.
  • Ability to work in a maintenance shop and outdoors in non-climate-controlled environments, including active construction sites and remote project locations.
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb, lift, carry, push, pull, and safely move objects up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, work extended hours, and support on-call needs as required.
  • Strong safety mindset and willingness to follow structured maintenance, safety, quality, and documentation procedures.
  • Flexibility to support a broad range of responsibilities in a growing startup environment.
