TITLE: SR. 1 Electric/Instrumentation Technician
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for operation and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in Instrumentation & Controls. This includes experience with 4-to-20 MA Instrumentation for Flow & Level control, includes working with PLC’s controlling the Instrumentation. Electrical controls include working with & trouble shooting Motor Control Centers (MCC’s) 480V with 277V, 120V, 24V control power scenarios.
AAS Degree in Instrumentation & Controls is a plus.
Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Task and Duties
Consistently demonstrate safety work habits, complete understanding of plant and department safety rules.
Take daily reading of all electrical instruments without making mistakes.
Determine if any abnormal have occurred while recording daily reading & report to supervisor.
Do any scheduled PM or repair.
Any critical repairs have to be complete before leaving site, be prepared to stay when needed.
Terminate power & control wiring with supervision.
Do end of day route checks of all utility equipment.
Must have regular, reliable attendance, and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.
B. Machinery and Electrical Devices Used
Electrical Tester / Multimeter, use to check voltage on all 600V & under equipment including 4-20 instrumentation devices.
Normal electrical & mechanical hand tools needed for routine electrical/instrumentation work.
Must be able to use & take care of Walkie – Talkie radio during working hours.
Must agree to use & take care of company Cell phone at all times, use to respond to all emergency’s day or night.
Must know or learn how to use Electrical Megger to test cables, motors, & other electrical equipment to determine abnormal situation.
Must know or learn how to use Infra – red heat gun to check equipment for overheating.
C. Physical and Visual Activity Required - Physical
Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and the like using feet and legs and / or hands and arms.
Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine and waist. Example: changing paper in printer, copier machine.
Standing, particularly for sustained periods in time. Example: making copies, giving presentations, directing traffic.
Lifting, raising objects from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. Degree of lifting: 26 - 50 lbs.
Feeling, perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
Talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; via face to face or telephone.
Hearing, perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40db loss @500Hz, 1000 H, and 2000 Hz with or without correction. Ability to receive verbal communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.

Environment conditions are subject to change throughout year.
Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature condition.
Outside environmental conditions, no effective protection from weather.

Subject to extreme cold; temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
Subject to extreme heat; temperatures above 100 degrees for more than one hour.
