CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Section Manager to join our Traffic & ITS Team in Miami, FL. In this leadership role, you will provide vision, technical oversight, and operational direction for a diverse portfolio of traffic engineering and intelligent transportation system initiatives. This is your opportunity to play a key role in delivering forward-looking solutions that support safer, more adaptive, and technology-driven transportation networks.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Organize, direct, and coordinate activities related to traffic and ITS projects, including traffic signal systems, smart corridors, and advanced traffic management solutions—from planning and design through implementation
- →Collaborate with traffic and ITS team leadership to manage and motivate a high-performing group of technical professionals, ensuring excellence in project delivery and achieving team utilization goals
- →Effectively manage project budgets, scope, and schedules to deliver successful outcomes for critical traffic and ITS initiatives
- →Engage with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded throughout each phase
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience required; previous project or team management experience preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices
- Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.) as well as Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
- An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and in front of large groups
- Proven ability to lead a team and manage relationships across the company
- Strategic thinker with the ability to guide and motivate team activity and resolve issues with urgency
- Experience with project budgeting preferred; basic understanding of accounting processes
- Active participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred
