The primary function of the Universal Banker is to be the expert in new account processing, product knowledge, and customer relationship development.  Universal Bankers will utilize a consultative approach to provide solutions to assist, prospective, new, and existing customers in achieving their financial goals. Resolve customer concerns through quality service and product knowledge.  The Universal Banker will also provide training, and operational support to the branch team, other business partners, as well as assist the Manager, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • →Opening and maintaining deposit products offered by the bank.
  • →Identify opportunities to cross-market financial institution products and services by making referrals to business partners such as Mortgage, Commercial, and Wealth Management, as appropriate.
  • →Enhance existing customer relationships by offering product solutions to customers in person, from referrals, and by making calls to customers.
  • →Assist in processing installment loans by inputting necessary customer information and ensuring that loan files contain documents with all required data.
  • →Provide operational assistance to the Branch Manager
  • →Operate a Teller drawer. Understand how to process deposits, withdrawals, take loan payments, and how to examine checks for proper acceptance within established procedure.
  • →Promote and demonstrate the use of digital and electronic products and services to benefit customers.
  • →Seek out prospective customers through referrals, community involvement, and targeted outbound calling efforts.
  • →Train other branch staff members in transactions, bank services, new accounts, and product knowledge
  • →Training may require travel to other locations
  • →Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficient in opening new accounts
  • Attained Senior Teller or equivalent service provider and trainer experience
  • Shows an insight and interest into continued development of their banking career
  • Displays leadership and effectively works with others
  • Ability to work independently with little oversight
  • Comfortable engaging with customers and asking them about personal financial needs
  • High School Diploma required
  • Experience opening new accounts required
  • Three Years banking experience preferred
  • Associates degree or higher preferred
  • Loan documentation experience preferred
  • Microsoft proficient – Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Effective communication ability, both verbal and written  
  • Demonstrated ability to understand financial concepts
  • Enthusiastic, positive, outgoing personality
  • Ability to work well in a group or independently
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced problem solving
  • Ability to assist others in the use and understanding of digital products and services
  • Highly developed commitment to customer satisfaction
