General Information:
Purpose of the role: The role will support the Office of Admissions’ recruitment of incoming undergraduate students through strategic outreach and personalized communication.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Assist with calling or texting prospective and admitted students to promote/advertise on-campus events such as Open Houses or On-Site Transfer Days and off-campus events such as College Fairs and High School Visits, outreach to admitted students, waitlisted students, inviting students and their families to Daily Visits, encouraging students who have started applications to complete them by the deadline, and other needs of the Office of Admissions as assigned.
2) Assist with answering students' and parents’ questions about JMU and providing an honest and authentic student perspective. Redirect unknown questions to the regional counselor and/or Office of Admissions supervisor.
3) Assist the Office of Admissions with on-campus recruitment events. This includes but is not limited to: Visitation, Open House, Virtual Student Panels, and Counselor Days
4) Keep track of the interactions had with students and families via Excell sheet or other means for keeping a record of the students and families contacted.
5) I understand it is my responsibility to accurately clock in and clock out of WebTimeClock for each shift worked. I also understand this is a condition of employment, and after two consecutive time periods (1 month) of not submitting timesheets, I could be terminated from my position.
6) Other duties as assigned.

Additional Posting Information:
An important note about the position is that the normal weekly hours are limited to evenings because of our office functions and prospective students' availability. The hours can be any day, Monday- Friday, and any time between 4 PM and 8 PM.
Conditions of Employment:
Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
