Founded in 2014, Jefferson RISE is a tuition-free public charter school serving nearly 800 students in grades 6-12 in Harvey, Louisiana. Schedule and Calendar:
As a charter school, Jefferson RISE sets its own academic calendar and daily schedule based on the needs of its students. Teachers generally work from mid-July (beginning with professional development before students arrive) through late May.
Workdays are generally 7:10 AM-3:45 PM, Monday through Friday. Mondays extend to 4:30 PM and include mandatory Professional Development time. Anticipated school hours and days vary annually based on changes to the school calendar.

Position Summary
Jefferson RISE Charter School is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and student-centered MTSS Coordinator to lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the school’s behavior systems, PBIS framework, MTSS supports, and intervention processes.
The MTSS Coordinator serves as the school’s lead for behavior systems, intervention monitoring, and culture and student outcomes data analysis. This role is responsible for building and managing systems that use academic and behavioral data to identify student needs, group students for intervention, monitor progress, and evaluate the effectiveness of supports across tiers. The MTSS Coordinator partners closely with school leaders and staff to ensure interventions are data-driven, consistently implemented, and improving student outcomes.
This is a highly data-driven role and not a Special Education (SPED) position. While collaborating with SPED staff, the MTSS Coordinator does not manage IEPs, conduct evaluations, or oversee compliance. Instead, this role focuses on strengthening general education systems, early identification, and preventative supports so that all students can succeed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Analysis and Progress Monitoring
- Maintain behavior dashboards, intervention trackers, and student support data systems
- Analyze behavior, attendance, academic, and intervention data to identify trends and student needs
- Monitor referral patterns by student, teacher, grade level, location, and incident type
- Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to student behavior and intervention outcomes
- Monitor intervention effectiveness and recommend adjustments based on student outcomes
- Identify students requiring Tier II and Tier III supports through ongoing data review
- Facilitate regular data review meetings focused on student outcomes and intervention effectiveness
MTSS and Intervention Oversight
- Coordinate schoolwide Tier II and Tier III behavior support systems
- Oversee intervention assignment processes and caseload management
- Facilitate weekly intervention review meetings and student case reviews
- Monitor intervention fidelity and progress toward student goals
- Collaborate with intervention staff to ensure timely and effective support implementation
- Coordinate communication among intervention staff, teachers, administrators, and families
PBIS and School Culture
- Oversee implementation of PBIS systems and behavior support frameworks
- Monitor implementation of Emergent Tree practices and schoolwide behavior expectations
- Coordinate student recognition and positive behavior reinforcement systems
- Conduct implementation fidelity checks and monitor consistency across classrooms and grade levels
- Support schoolwide efforts to create safe, respectful, and responsible learning environments
Leadership and Team Management
- Supervise behavior team personnel and provide ongoing support, coaching, and accountability
- Establish clear performance expectations and student outcome goals
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews
- Monitor team effectiveness and ensure alignment with school priorities
- Support onboarding and development of behavior team staff
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of three years of experience in education, student support services, MTSS, PBIS, school operations, behavior intervention, counseling, or a related field
- Experience analyzing student data and using findings to improve outcomes
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- Experience leading PBIS, MTSS, RTI, or intervention systems
- Experience supervising staff
- Experience developing dashboards, reports, and progress monitoring systems

COMPENSATION
Jefferson RISE offers competitive compensation tied to performance and qualifications. We do not follow a traditional salary schedule - annual salaries reflect the outcomes teachers drive and the value they bring to students and the school.
- Annual Salary Ranges: $60,000 - $80,000 starting salary depending on degree level, certification, content, previous student outcomes, and experience
- Additional Stipends Available: Employees may be eligible for stipends or supplemental compensation for approved responsibilities that extend beyond the regular duties of their position. Examples may include athletic coaching, club sponsorship, leadership, special projects, additional workdays, extended hours, or other assigned duties. Eligibility and amounts are determined by the school and may vary from year to year.
- Raises and Bonuses: We believe exceptional performance should be recognized. Employees may be eligible for performance-based raises and bonuses. Eligibility and award amounts are determined based on demonstrated results, contributions to the organization, available funding, and other relevant factors.
- Paid twice monthly on the 15th and last day of each month

- Medical: RISE covers 85% of employee-only premiums; employee covers 15% (spouse and dependent costs are the employee's responsibility)
- Dental and Vision: 100% of employee-only premiums covered
- Short and Long-Term Disability: 100% of premiums covered
- 401(k): 100% employer match on first 3% deferred; 50% match on contributions from 3% to 5%; no vesting period
