Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm


Job Summary: The Residency Coordinator serves as the point of contact for inquiries regarding residency for tuition purposes at The University of Alabama.


Additional Department Summary: Counsels students and their families regarding state law and University policy about residency for tuition purposes. Interprets and applies state law and University policy during the review, analysis, and case resolution of applications for reclassification of residency for tuition purposes.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher.


Skills and Knowledge: Ability to interact with students and their families. Ability to convey difficult information with empathy and understanding in high-stress situations. Ability to utilize sound judgment and the ability to remain calm during difficult conversations. Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures. Strong organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Ability to think and plan strategically as part of a team. Ability to convey messages clearly with written and oral communication.


Preferred Qualifications: Experience using Banner Student Information System, Banner Self-Service, Argos Enterprise Reporting, and Hyland OnBase.
