Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm


Job Summary: The School Experiential Education Specialist coordinates student internships in community organizations located in Alabama, nationally, and internationally. Engages students simultaneously in the classroom and practice learning during the academic year. Secures educationally sound placements for field students in compliance with Council on Social Work Education field standards and School of Social Work policy.


Additional Department Summary: Reports directly to the Director of Experiential Programs and is an integral part of the collaboration and planning of the Office of Experiential Programs. Utilize a complex database system to analyze information and provide reports. The office operates year-round to meet the needs of all constituencies and is a high-traffic environment.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher.


Skills and Knowledge: Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and writing. Ability to operate with a high-level of independence as well as collaborate with faculty and community agencies in program development. Detail-oriented and forward-thinking. Ability to accommodate flexible hours to work with community agencies and address peak task periods. Ability to use standard software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Ability to learn new database systems and technology.


Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree and three (3) to five (5) years of experience.
