This remote role offers the opportunity to lead sophisticated actuarial pricing initiatives for homeowners insurance products.
You will work across rating plans, predictive modeling, segmentation, regulatory filings, and pricing strategy to support sound business and risk decisions.
The position combines advanced analytics with strategic actuarial leadership, using data and modern analytical techniques to improve pricing performance.
You will collaborate with Product, Reserving, Data Science, Underwriting, Sales, and Claims teams in a highly cross-functional environment.
The role also involves mentoring actuarial analysts and establishing strong governance, documentation, and quality standards.
With regular collaboration with U.S.-based teams and senior stakeholders, you will help translate complex analysis into actionable business recommendations.
- Lead the development and ongoing maintenance of rating plans and actuarial indication frameworks.
- Design and implement advanced pricing models, predictive analytics, and customer or risk segmentation strategies.
- Direct countrywide rating algorithm initiatives, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable requirements.
- Establish and maintain documentation, governance, and quality standards for pricing models and actuarial processes.
- Mentor and coach actuarial analysts while reviewing their work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to professional standards.
- Lead investigations into segmentation enhancements and translate analytical findings into strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
- Identify and implement innovative analytical tools and techniques that improve the department’s capabilities and speed to results.
- Partner closely with Product, Reserving, Data Science, Underwriting, Sales, and Claims teams to support pricing and business objectives.
- Contribute to ongoing actuarial credential development through examinations and relevant professional development activities.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Associate designation or near-associate completion through CAS, IFOA, or IAI is strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of general insurance actuarial or pricing experience, including experience leading complex projects.
- Expert-level Excel skills and advanced proficiency in SQL and Python or R.
- Strong understanding of actuarial pricing, predictive modeling, segmentation, governance, and risk management.
- Proven ability to communicate complex analytical findings effectively to senior executives, business stakeholders, and regulators.
- Strategic thinking, leadership capabilities, and strong judgment when evaluating pricing and risk-related decisions.
- Proven experience collaborating with U.S.-based business teams.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work an 8-hour schedule excluding breaks, including four core hours of U.S. time-zone overlap from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM IST, with four additional flexible hours.
- A quiet, professional workspace and reliable internet connection with at least 30 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.
