- Develop, implement, and manage fraud prevention strategies, policies, procedures, rules, and controls, with a focus on card issuing and alignment with business objectives.
- Conduct transactional behavior studies, investigate fraud patterns, and perform predictive analyses using advanced SQL, including complex queries and CTEs, in Databricks environments.
- Identify vulnerabilities across the card business and proactively build a backlog of initiatives and solutions to address emerging risks.
- Continuously monitor the fraud and risk landscape, analyzing indicators, trends, and the performance of implemented rules to refine prevention strategies and mitigation mechanisms.
- Develop and track KPIs and KRIs, translating analytical findings into strategic insights that support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Communicate fraud prevention processes, policies, controls, and procedures clearly to relevant technical, operational, and business stakeholders.
- Lead strategic fraud prevention projects from initial concept through implementation, performance monitoring, and optimization.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and solutions that can improve fraud prevention effectiveness and resource efficiency.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal teams and external partners, including financial institutions, technology providers, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Represent the fraud prevention function in internal and external forums, presenting results, insights, strategies, and recommendations.
Requirements
~2 min read- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Solid experience in fraud prevention strategy teams, including the creation, implementation, and optimization of fraud rules and models.
- Strong knowledge of fraud prevention strategies within the credit and debit card ecosystem, particularly on the issuer side.
- Previous experience with transactional fraud prevention, preferably within financial institutions, fintechs, acquirers, payment companies, or related environments.
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries and CTEs, with experience extracting, manipulating, and analyzing large volumes of transactional data.
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms for dashboards, analytical reporting, and strategic data visualization.
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to turn complex data into practical recommendations and business insights.
- Proactive and autonomous approach, with the ability to identify vulnerabilities, prioritize initiatives, and drive projects forward.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence interacting with both technical and business audiences.
- Experience with solutions from payment networks, such as Visa Advanced Authorization or Decision Intelligence, is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of 3DS, tokenization, chargebacks, and payment network rules is desirable.
- Experience implementing antifraud solutions and working directly with technology providers and technical teams is a plus.
- Certifications or courses in Fraud Prevention, AML/CTF, authorizations, or payment network rules are advantageous.
- Knowledge of Python or other programming languages for data analysis is a plus.
- Intermediate English skills for communication with external technology providers are desirable.
