This role leads a conversion rate optimization practice with a strong focus on data, experimentation, and behavioral science.
You will translate quantitative and qualitative insights into revenue-driving improvements across Shopify ecommerce experiences.
The position combines client strategy, analytics, statistical modeling, experimentation, personalization, and performance reporting.
You will work with DTC and omnichannel brands, partnering closely with UX, Design, Development, and other specialists.
A major focus is building reliable analytics foundations and turning funnel, cohort, and segmentation data into actionable priorities.
You will also help evolve CRO through AI-enabled experimentation and real-time personalization.
The role offers broad ownership across strategy, execution, client relationships, and the continuous improvement of CRO practices.
As Director, CRO & Analytics, you will own strategic CRO engagements and the analytics backbone supporting experimentation, optimization, and measurable business outcomes.
- Lead strategic CRO engagements for ecommerce brands, including discovery, ongoing retainers, and consulting initiatives.
- Serve as a data-driven strategy partner across site experience, merchandising, acquisition, retention, analytics, UX, and digital product roadmaps.
- Develop strategies aligned with short- and long-term business objectives using funnel and cohort analysis.
- Identify optimization opportunities across the customer journey, from landing pages and product pages through checkout and post-purchase experiences.
- Develop data-backed hypotheses and prioritized testing roadmaps in collaboration with UX, Design, and Development teams.
- Design, execute, and analyze A/B and multivariate experiments using appropriate statistical methods, including sample size, significance, and power calculations.
- Monitor test and site performance, identify data anomalies, and continuously refine recommendations.
- Lead the evolution toward AI-enabled experimentation and real-time personalization using behavioral and transactional data.
- Apply AI throughout the experimentation lifecycle to improve insight generation, test design, velocity, and performance analysis.
- Own monthly client analytics reporting covering traffic, conversion, revenue, channel mix, and experiment results, with prioritized recommendations.
- Oversee analytics implementation and data integrity, including GA4, Google Tag Manager, Shopify Customer Events and pixels, consent mode, bot and spam filtering, and reconciliation with Shopify order data.
- Build automated BI dashboards that visualize conversion trends, test impact, and revenue attribution for client leadership.
- Conduct funnel, cohort, segmentation, statistical, ROI, revenue growth, and customer lifetime value analyses.
- Combine quantitative analysis with qualitative research such as user testing, surveys, interviews, persona development, journey mapping, and competitive or heuristic audits.
- Translate complex, multi-source data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations.
- Perform final quality assurance on analytics and CRO deliverables and oversee CRO contractors and vendors.
- Maintain the central CRO task board and support delivery coordination.
- Collaborate with UX, Design, and Technical Delivery teams across new site builds, migrations, redesigns, feature launches, optimization, and maintenance.

Requirements
~2 min readThe ideal candidate is a data-first CRO leader who combines advanced ecommerce analytics and experimentation expertise with strong client leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, UX, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience leading CRO initiatives as a data-driven practice, mentoring team members, guiding cross-functional teams, and owning client strategy from discovery through execution.
- Advanced ecommerce analytics expertise with the ability to turn raw data into clear insights and prioritized, revenue-focused actions.
- Hands-on experience with statistical modeling for web experimentation, including hypothesis testing, sample size calculations, significance testing, and segmentation.
- Experience with A/B testing and experimentation platforms such as Intelligems, VWO, Optimizely, Shoplift, Visually, or similar tools.
- Advanced hands-on proficiency with Google Analytics 4, including custom reporting, funnel analysis, and segmentation.
- Experience building prioritized and resourced testing roadmaps based on quantitative impact estimates.
- Experience with the Shopify platform.
- Experience partnering with UX, Design, and Development teams to bring insights and experiments into execution.
- Experience conducting UX analysis, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain data and statistical findings to both clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior agency experience supporting multiple brands and workstreams is preferred.
- Experience with Klaviyo or other email and retention platforms is an advantage.
- Understanding of paid social and paid search, including how traffic quality and acquisition data can affect experiment reliability, is preferred.
- Working proficiency with BigQuery and SQL for independent, ad hoc analysis is a plus.
