Insights gathered through individual and group interactions will help shape brand strategies, customer engagement plans, and broader commercial priorities.
The position also plays an important role in congress planning, engagement measurement, governance, and innovative approaches to stakeholder engagement.

Partner with marketing leaders to develop and execute strategic Thought Leader and Opinion Leader engagement plans aligned with brand and Gastroenterology franchise objectives.

Map the Thought Leader community to identify established and emerging experts, understand relationships and networks, and inform engagement strategies and channels.

Develop individualized engagement approaches and build strong, long-term relationships with national and regional Thought Leaders.

Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned Thought Leaders while coordinating a consistent, integrated experience across internal functions.

Identify innovative ways to expand stakeholder engagement, including digital approaches and new engagement models.

Lead insight-gathering activities through one-to-one interactions and small-group meetings, capturing perspectives on treatment patterns, unmet needs, brand perceptions, expertise, and market dynamics.

Synthesize stakeholder insights into actionable recommendations that inform brand, franchise, customer engagement, and commercial strategies.

Maintain accurate and consistent documentation of insights and engagement activity to support knowledge sharing and longitudinal relationship management.

Collaborate closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales Leadership, Market Access, and other stakeholders to align engagement activities with broader commercial and medical plans.

Support national and regional congress engagement strategies, including recommendations, planning, coordination, and stakeholder interactions.

Establish and monitor engagement metrics, post-engagement evaluations, objectives, and performance indicators while maintaining current Thought Leader lists.

Ensure all engagement activities comply with applicable company policies, legal requirements, and compliance standards, partnering with relevant governance teams as needed.

Collaborate with global and regional colleagues to align engagement strategies and maximize consistency and impact.

Influence cross-functional teams and guide colleagues toward meaningful outcomes while contributing to broader business strategy and organizational impact.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree is preferred.

Approximately 8–10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or related healthcare industries.

Experience in commercial, medical affairs, marketing, sales leadership, strategy, customer engagement, or related functions.

Demonstrated success developing and maintaining strong relationships with external Thought Leaders, Opinion Leaders, and senior internal stakeholders.

Experience designing and executing Thought Leader or Opinion Leader engagement programs is strongly preferred.

Gastroenterology experience is preferred.

Science or clinical background is advantageous.

Proven ability to operate effectively within complex, cross-functional, matrixed organizations and influence stakeholders without formal authority.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate customer and market insights into practical, actionable strategies.

Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills.

Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, executive presence, emotional intelligence, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulated environment.

Ability to travel approximately 50%, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Must be located in the United States and able to work East Coast business hours; U.S. permanent work authorization is required, and visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
