This is a highly mobile opportunity with up to 70% travel, offering exposure to diverse customer sites and technically challenging field projects.
- Represent the organization professionally in the field, keeping customer needs at the center of project execution and ensuring field activities remain on track.
- Install and commission standard high-voltage products across assigned customer locations in North America.
- Perform general servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for standard HV products.
- Work safely within live substations and network facilities while following all applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Complete required technical, product, and external health and safety training and maintain all relevant training requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with Field Service and Operations teams to support efficient planning, scheduling, and execution of field activities.
- Report completed work, work orders, service appointments, and relevant field updates to the appropriate management and operational teams.
- Prepare accurate reports documenting field activities and communicate findings to operational stakeholders.
- Monitor and communicate customer satisfaction before, during, and after service activities.
- Support the non-conformance and issue-management process by applying critical thinking, gathering relevant customer feedback, and ensuring information is passed to the appropriate teams for verification and analysis.
- Identify and communicate technical or operational issues that may affect project schedules, service quality, or customer outcomes.
- Take on additional duties and field-service responsibilities appropriate to the role as required.
- Travel extensively to customer locations, with up to 70% travel potentially required.
Requirements
~2 min read- Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or 5 years of field experience in a comparable role.
- Previous experience in a field service, installation, commissioning, maintenance, or technically related position.
- Experience working with electrical, mechanical, or high-voltage products and systems is relevant to the role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to diagnose issues and develop practical solutions in field environments.
- Good IT proficiency and strong documentation-management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate reporting and documentation.
- Positive, proactive, and adaptable attitude with a genuine willingness to learn new products, technologies, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication and coordination with remote operational teams.
- Flexibility to work additional hours and weekends when required by customer or project needs.
- Current driver’s license and passport required, with the ability to travel throughout the assigned region and potentially to other customer locations.
- Previous experience with communication protocols and carriers is desirable.
- Experience with software and hardware solutions is a plus.
- Demonstrated critical-thinking skills and the ability to assess technical or operational issues effectively.
- Previous experience working directly with customers and delivering satisfactory technical outcomes is preferred.
