This opportunity is designed for an experienced agency leader who can combine executive relationship management, commercial acumen, strategic marketing expertise, and team development.

As Group Account Director, B2B, you will provide senior-level leadership across a portfolio of complex client relationships while developing account teams and driving measurable commercial outcomes.

  • Serve as the senior relationship leader and escalation point for a portfolio of complex B2B client accounts.
  • Build trusted partnerships with VP and C-suite stakeholders and advise clients on business, marketing, growth, and customer acquisition priorities.
  • Own the growth, retention, strategic direction, and overall health of assigned client relationships.
  • Identify organic growth opportunities within existing accounts and contribute to broader new business initiatives.
  • Develop deep knowledge of each client's business, market, competitive landscape, buying committee, and ideal customer profile.
  • Bring strategic and innovative ideas to client engagements by collaborating with specialists across multiple marketing disciplines.
  • Guide integrated, full-funnel marketing strategies across Paid Search, Organic Search, Paid Social, Programmatic, YouTube, Email, Content, and other relevant channels.
  • Oversee statements of work, including deliverables, renewals, scope changes, and change orders.
  • Lead executive client meetings, quarterly business reviews, annual planning sessions, and other strategic discussions.
  • Analyze data from platforms such as GA4, Salesforce, 6sense, Demandbase, Marketo, Pardot, and HubSpot to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for pipeline and revenue growth.
  • Ensure marketing strategies align with client objectives, sales priorities, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Manage account financial health and profitability, including staffing, resource allocation, agency hours, forecasting, and scope management.
  • Collaborate with Strategy, Creative, Media, Analytics, and Martech teams to deliver cohesive campaigns and measurable commercial impact.
  • Provide strategic oversight and quality control across client deliverables.
  • Anticipate account risks and develop proactive strategies to protect relationships, retention, and business performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Account Directors and other account team members while promoting collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Contribute to improving account management processes, standards, and best practices across the B2B practice.

Requirements

The role requires extensive B2B client leadership experience within an agency environment, combined with strong digital marketing expertise, commercial judgment, executive communication, and people leadership capabilities.

  • 10–12+ years of experience managing client relationships across SaaS, professional services, or other complex solution categories in an agency environment.
  • 5–6+ years of B2B client management experience.
  • Experience overseeing complex, enterprise-sized client portfolios and guiding multiple account teams.
  • Demonstrated success strengthening client relationships, retaining business, and identifying organic growth opportunities.
  • Experience developing and executing integrated digital marketing strategies across Paid Search, Organic Search, Paid Social, Programmatic, Email, Content, and related channels.
  • Experience leading full-funnel programs spanning awareness, demand generation, lead nurturing, pipeline acceleration, and sales enablement.
  • Strong understanding of B2B sales cycles, buying committees, and funnel stages through closed-won, with the ability to connect marketing programs to revenue KPIs.
  • Experience using CRM, marketing automation, and intent-data platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, 6sense, and Demandbase.
  • Ability to translate complex media, attribution, analytics, and business performance data into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic marketing capabilities, including competitive analysis, industry assessment, audience segmentation, and go-to-market planning.
  • Experience overseeing multiple enterprise clients with combined media budgets exceeding $80 million.
  • Strong financial acumen, including account profitability, statements of work, staffing plans, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Proven experience managing, mentoring, and developing account leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to influence and align multidisciplinary teams without direct reporting authority.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and executive stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams under pressure.
  • Energetic, solutions-oriented approach with a strong focus on client leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with multi-touch attribution and media mix modeling is a plus.
  • Experience supporting enterprise new business pitches and RFP responses is advantageous.
  • Experience scaling account management processes or capabilities within a growing B2B practice is preferred.
