This is a hands-on leadership role supporting customer deployments and infrastructure projects in active data center and critical-environment settings. You will lead technicians and helpers while remaining directly involved in rack-and-stack, structured cabling, installation, remediation, and cabinet closeout activities. The role combines field leadership with technical execution, quality control, documentation, and customer-site coordination. You will work from rack elevations, cable schedules, port maps, drawings, runbooks, and field instructions to deliver reliable deployments. The position is highly travel-intensive, with approximately 75–90% nationwide travel and extended assignments. Success requires strong judgment, disciplined execution, safety awareness, and the ability to identify and escalate issues before they affect project timelines or quality.

Lead daily field activities for technicians, helpers, and subcontractors, assigning work, monitoring progress, and keeping the crew aligned with project requirements.
Perform hands-on rack-and-stack activities, including equipment staging, cabinet preparation, server and switch installation, cable management, and cabinet closeout.
Install, route, dress, label, connect, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber-optic cabling according to drawings, port maps, cable schedules, and work instructions.
Inspect completed work for label accuracy, port assignments, bend radius, cable dressing, cleanliness, slack, test results, photographs, and overall workmanship, correcting issues promptly.
Capture and maintain accurate project documentation, including serial numbers, asset tags, MAC addresses, photographs, completion records, redlines, test results, and issue logs.
Provide clear daily status updates covering completed work, blockers, rework, open items, risks, and next steps, while escalating scope conflicts and unexpected field conditions early.
Maintain safe and professional conduct in secure customer environments, including PPE usage, housekeeping, access requirements, confidentiality, and appropriate stop-work authority.
Complete required security awareness training, follow applicable company policies and procedures, and identify and escalate security risks for remediation.
Support other field, deployment, or infrastructure activities as assigned.

Requirements

At least 4 years of experience in data center operations, telecommunications, structured cabling, low-voltage installation, or network infrastructure deployment.
Demonstrated experience leading technicians, helpers, subcontractors, or small field crews while remaining actively involved in technical work.
Practical knowledge of copper and fiber-optic cabling, rack installation, server and switch installation, cable management, labeling, testing, troubleshooting, and remediation.
Ability to interpret and apply rack elevations, cabinet IDs, U positions, port maps, cable schedules, drawings, runbooks, checklists, and field instructions.
Working knowledge of fiber cleaning and inspection, connector care, polarity, bend radius, VFL/OLTS/OTDR fundamentals, wiremap, and basic copper testing concepts.
Strong quality-control, documentation, communication, problem-solving, and customer-service skills, with the judgment to verify conditions before proceeding.
Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with field teams, customers, project stakeholders, and subcontractors.
Valid driver's license and readiness for rental vehicles and approximately 75–90% nationwide travel, including overnight and extended assignments.
Flexibility to work 10–12 hour shifts, nights, weekends, maintenance windows, and other nonstandard deployment schedules when required.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work safely in active data center and construction environments.

✓Salary: $99,840–$135,200 base salary for positions in New York City, plus potential bonus and/or commission opportunities; compensation may vary in other locations.

✓Salaried, non-exempt status with eligibility for overtime pay at 1.5 times the regular rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek, in accordance with applicable law.
