Principal Software Engineer (React)

This is a senior technical leadership role focused on shaping the frontend architecture and customer-facing digital experiences of a large-scale online platform. You will define technical direction, build high-performance web applications, and influence how frontend systems evolve over the long term. The role combines hands-on engineering with architecture, mentoring, cross-team leadership, and strategic decision-making. You will work closely with product, design, backend engineering, and senior leadership to turn ambitious ideas into reliable products. The environment is fast-moving and increasingly focused on AI-enabled development, modern architectural patterns, and engineering excellence. • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of hands-on frontend or full-stack development experience, including at least 2 years in a Principal, Staff, or equivalent technical leadership position.
• Expert-level proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript, with deep expertise in React, including Hooks, Context API, component lifecycle, state management, routing, Server Components, and reusable component architecture.
• Strong experience with state management and data-fetching technologies such as Zustand, TanStack Query, and TanStack Router.
• Hands-on experience designing and maintaining frontend build systems using tools such as Webpack, Vite, Turborepo, or similar technologies.
• Deep knowledge of mobile-first development, cross-browser compatibility, REST APIs, GraphQL, and asynchronous programming patterns.
• Extensive experience with testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent tools, integrated into CI/CD workflows.
• Strong understanding of web performance optimization, including Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse, as well as accessibility standards such as WCAG and modern observability practices.
• Proven ability to lead large-scale technical initiatives from inception through delivery while balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term technical health.
• Experience with Git workflows, branching strategies, code reviews, CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions, and Agile/Scrum practices.
• Familiarity with micro-frontend architectures, Module Federation, and design systems; exposure to Node.js, Python, or OCI is a strong plus.
• Experience evaluating and using AI-powered developer tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence senior technical and business audiences.
• Strong ownership, accountability, judgment, adaptability, and a bias toward action in ambiguous environments.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineers across multiple levels of seniority, combined with a passion for building intuitive digital experiences at scale.
