As a Process Improvement Specialist/Manager, you will lead structured improvement efforts, facilitate collaboration across teams, and help translate operational insights into measurable results.
- Lead process improvement initiatives by analyzing current-state operations, identifying inefficiencies and gaps, and designing future-state workflows.
- Facilitate collaboration among program managers, analysts, IT teams, field staff, and other stakeholders to gather insights and develop practical, scalable solutions.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other process improvement methodologies to improve efficiency, service delivery, and compliance.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures, process maps, and performance dashboards.
- Support change management activities by communicating process changes, training stakeholders, and promoting adoption of new practices.
- Monitor process performance through KPIs, data analysis, and ongoing evaluation to ensure improvements remain aligned with strategic goals.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and develop recommendations based on operational and performance data.
- Mentor teams on process improvement tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure redesigned processes remain aligned with applicable federal regulations, policies, and data governance standards.
Requirements
~1 min readThe ideal candidate combines process improvement expertise with strong analytical, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in process improvement, operations management, or organizational development.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional improvement initiatives within large or complex organizations.
- Strong knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to analyze complex systems, identify improvement opportunities, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Experience working within or supporting federal agencies or similar mission-driven environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse functional and technical teams.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a focus on measurable outcomes.
- Lean Six Sigma certification at the Green Belt level or higher is preferred.
- Experience with process modeling tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or ARIS is preferred.
- Experience supporting digital transformation or modernization initiatives in the public sector is an advantage.
- U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
