QA and Test Automation Specialist

This remote contract role will lead quality assurance and test automation for a bilingual digital platform serving a nonprofit organization. You will plan and execute testing across the website, CMS, user accounts, registrations, and system integrations. The role combines functional, integration, regression, and automated end-to-end testing with strong attention to traceability and release readiness. You will coordinate English and French test coverage while supporting user acceptance testing led by the client team. The position also involves API testing, performance checks, and close coordination with accessibility and security specialists. Success in this role requires strong documentation, collaborative delivery, and the ability to identify and resolve defects efficiently.

• 5–10 years of relevant QA, software testing, or test automation experience, with experience delivering projects in Canada.
• Strong hands-on experience with functional, integration, regression, and automated end-to-end testing.
• Proven ability to create structured test cases, manage test data, report defects, and maintain traceability against acceptance criteria.
• Experience with cross-browser, mobile, permissions, bilingual parity, API, and performance testing.
• Strong written and spoken English is required; fluency in written and spoken French is a significant asset.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical, product, UX/design, content, accessibility, security, and client teams.
• Strong documentation, organization, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work remotely while remaining available during standard Eastern Time business hours, as the client is based on Canada's East Coast.
• Nonprofit or education-sector experience is an asset.
• Contractors based in Canada or the USA are preferred, with the role specifically requiring a Canada-based professional.
