This leadership role owns the enterprise testing strategy for a complex software platform supporting Agile development and phased releases.
You will establish and mature a comprehensive Quality Engineering practice covering functional, integration, system, regression, automation, performance, UAT, and stakeholder testing.
The role combines strategic quality leadership with hands-on governance of testing frameworks, release readiness, defect management, and quality metrics.
You will coordinate internal, contractor, business-user, and external testing resources to ensure consistent execution across the delivery lifecycle.
Your work will directly influence the quality, reliability, and readiness of software releases through clear standards and measurable quality criteria.
You will also strengthen automated testing capabilities and promote efficient, repeatable testing practices across development teams.
This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced quality leader who enjoys building testing organizations and improving enterprise delivery processes.

Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the enterprise test strategy across functional, integration, system, regression, automation, performance, UAT, and external stakeholder testing.
Establish and lead the Quality Engineering practice, defining testing standards, processes, governance, and quality objectives.
Manage contractor test engineers and coordinate activities with client testing resources and business stakeholders.
Own UAT planning and execution governance, including test coordination, defect management, results tracking, and quality exit criteria.
Partner with implementation and business stakeholders to ensure UAT activities align with delivery objectives and organizational needs.
Provide testing results, quality metrics, and release criteria to support Beta and Production readiness decisions.
Establish and mature automated testing frameworks to improve coverage, consistency, efficiency, and release confidence.
Oversee TestRail governance and ensure effective management of test cases, execution, results, and reporting.
Define and monitor release quality metrics that provide clear visibility into testing progress, risks, defects, and readiness.
Coordinate testing with external stakeholders and ensure appropriate communication, scheduling, and execution across participating groups.
Facilitate collaboration between engineering, business, testing, and delivery teams throughout the software lifecycle.
Support continuous improvement of Agile testing practices and phased release processes.

Requirements

12+ years of professional software testing experience.
8+ years of experience leading enterprise QA or Quality Engineering organizations.
Proven experience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks.
Hands-on experience with TestRail and Agile testing methodologies.
Strong experience leading User Acceptance Testing programs and coordinating testing with business users.
Experience testing APIs, databases, cloud applications, and integrated enterprise systems.
Demonstrated ability to establish testing strategies, quality governance, release criteria, and measurable quality standards.
Strong leadership, facilitation, organizational, and stakeholder communication skills.
Experience managing and coordinating distributed or contractor testing teams.
Ability to work effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, delivery leaders, and external partners.
Experience supporting Federal software delivery environments is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify quality risks and drive appropriate mitigation.
Ability to operate independently in a fully remote environment while maintaining strong collaboration and accountability.
