Senior Backend Engineer

This role offers the opportunity to build scalable backend systems that support trust-focused workflows within a European fintech environment.
You’ll design reliable APIs and infrastructure while contributing to the long-term technical architecture of the platform.

The position is fully remote within European time zones and offers a senior-level compensation package.

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience working with production systems.
• Strong systems-thinking skills and the ability to reason about scalable, maintainable, long-term architecture.
• Experience designing scalable APIs and backend infrastructure for high-volume or high-trust environments.
• Professional experience with one or more backend technologies such as Node.js, TypeScript, Python, Go, or Java.
• Production experience with relational databases, automated testing, message queues, and containerized or cloud environments.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Kubernetes and AWS.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to contribute constructively to technical discussions.
• Ability to learn quickly, navigate ambiguity, and approach problems with curiosity, kindness, and sound judgment.
• Background in fintech, payments, identity, or other regulated industries is a plus.
• Must already have the right to work in Europe, as visa sponsorship is not provided.
