This role is a hands-on technical position focused on embedding privacy and data protection into products, services, and enterprise systems. You will design privacy controls, develop privacy-enhancing technologies, and build automation that supports regulatory compliance and protects sensitive customer data. Working across Engineering, Product, Security, Legal, and Compliance, you will translate complex privacy requirements into scalable technical solutions. You will help integrate privacy by design throughout the software development lifecycle through architecture reviews, threat modeling, and engineering guidance. The role also provides an opportunity to contribute to AI governance and address emerging privacy risks associated with artificial intelligence and machine learning. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced engineer who combines strong software development capabilities with deep expertise in privacy engineering.

Design, implement, and maintain technical privacy controls and privacy-enhancing technologies across products, services, and enterprise systems.
Embed privacy by design into the software development lifecycle through architecture reviews, threat modeling, technical assessments, and engineering guidance.
Develop and maintain privacy automation capabilities, including consent management, data subject rights workflows, and data de-identification processes.
Conduct and support Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs/DPIAs), data flow mapping, privacy inventories, and related technical assessments.
Partner with Engineering, Product, Security, Legal, and Compliance teams to translate privacy regulations and organizational requirements into practical technical solutions.
Develop privacy-focused data protection solutions covering encryption, access controls, audit logging, retention management, and related safeguards.
Evaluate and implement privacy engineering tools, technologies, frameworks, and emerging industry practices.
Support AI governance initiatives by identifying and addressing privacy risks associated with AI and machine learning systems.
Create reusable privacy standards, engineering libraries, technical documentation, and training materials to help development teams implement privacy requirements consistently.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of privacy engineering processes, tooling, and technical standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, or a related technical discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred.
At least 6 years of experience in software engineering, security engineering, privacy engineering, or a related field, including at least 4 years focused on privacy engineering or data protection.
Strong software development experience using languages such as Python, Java, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience building and operating production systems in modern cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Demonstrated experience implementing privacy by design, privacy automation, and technical privacy controls within contemporary software development practices.
Working knowledge of privacy regulations and frameworks including HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and relevant privacy engineering standards.
Experience collaborating effectively across Engineering, Product, Legal, Security, and Compliance teams.
Strong communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
Familiarity with privacy management, data discovery, identity, and security technologies.
IAPP certifications such as CIPT, CIPP, or CIPM, CDPSE, or related professional certifications are preferred.
Ability to develop scalable technical solutions while balancing privacy, security, compliance, and product requirements.
