- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine technical and preventive maintenance activities on flight simulators and associated simulator systems to maintain operational readiness.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Assist with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and correcting technical issues affecting simulators and related systems using appropriate technical procedures and test equipment.
- Simulator Testing: Perform pre-flight and post-flight checks, basic visual alignments, and automated Qualification Test Guide (QTG) procedures on designated simulators.
- Technical Documentation: Use the maintenance management system to accurately record, document, and track maintenance activities, repairs, testing, and related work.
- Refurbishment & Modifications: Support simulator refurbishment initiatives, hardware modifications, equipment testing, and validation activities.
- Logistics Support: Assist with receiving parts, coordinating repairs, conducting testing and validation, and supporting other logistics activities required to maintain simulator availability.
- Quality & Compliance: Learn and follow applicable Quality Management System requirements and established technical and maintenance procedures.
- Customer Support: Provide responsive technical and operational support to customers, addressing their needs in a timely and professional manner.
- Operational Readiness: Maintain simulator areas through appropriate housekeeping activities and ensure equipment and workspaces remain clean and ready for use.
- Training & Development: Complete assigned technical training and development activities while progressively building knowledge across simulator systems and technical operations.
- Team Support: Provide administrative and operational assistance to the Technical Services team and perform additional technical duties as required.
Requirements
~2 min read- Education & Experience: Associate degree or other two-year technical degree in a relevant technical discipline, or four years of experience in electronics, avionics, or a related technical field; 0–2 years of relevant technical experience is required.
- Technical Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, system prints, schematics, and related documentation.
- Electronic Testing: Proficiency with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and logic analyzers.
- Electronics Knowledge: Working knowledge of analog and digital electronic theory, along with practical understanding of electronic systems.
- Computer Skills: Computer literacy, including familiarity with PC hardware, software, computer system architecture, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Repair Skills: Proficiency in soldering and circuit board repair techniques.
- Maintenance Systems: Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems is preferred.
- Industry Experience: Experience in simulation, aviation, training, electronics, or other technical equipment environments is preferred.
- Troubleshooting: Demonstrated technical troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in equipment maintenance and testing environments.
- Adaptability: Ability to work flexible schedules and adjust to changing shift requirements.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in English and exchange technical information clearly with colleagues and customers.
- Physical Capability: Ability to regularly climb or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles; repeatedly perform hand, wrist, and finger movements; communicate continuously with others; and move or adjust objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
