This senior, client-facing role leads enterprise AI, agent, data, and platform governance across the Microsoft ecosystem. You will design governance operating models that allow organizations to scale AI safely while maintaining security, compliance, and accountability. The position combines strategic architecture with hands-on implementation across Copilot Studio, Agent 365, Microsoft Purview, Power Platform, Microsoft 365, and Azure. You will guide complex client engagements, influence executive stakeholders, and help establish AI Centers of Excellence and governance councils. The role also includes mentoring consultants, shaping project scope, and developing reusable governance frameworks and accelerators. This is a fully remote opportunity for professionals working across the United States or Canada, with reliable overlap for Eastern and Central business hours.

The Sr. AI Governance Architect will lead governance strategy and implementation across AI, agents, data, Power Platform, Microsoft 365, and Azure while serving as a trusted advisor to enterprise clients.

  • Design and implement enterprise AI and agent governance frameworks, including operating models, policies, standards, roles, responsibilities, decision structures, and prioritized roadmaps.
  • Govern the full lifecycle of agents across Agent Builder, SharePoint agents, Copilot Studio, Frontier agents, and Copilot connectors, including intake, registration, publishing, production promotion, ownership, monitoring, and retirement.
  • Design Agent 365 governance covering agent identity boundaries, policies, monitoring, auditing, and alignment with Defender, Purview, and Entra ID.
  • Define Copilot Studio security, DLP, connector, event trigger, knowledge source, HTTP request, and capacity controls.
  • Establish and formalize AI Centers of Excellence, including lifecycle management, monitoring, reporting, audit, compliance, review cadences, and escalation structures.
  • Translate responsible AI and regulatory frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, EU AI Act, and industry-specific requirements into practical controls and audit evidence.
  • Lead Microsoft Purview and Fabric data governance covering cataloging, lineage, classification, data quality, sensitivity labeling, and ownership.
  • Assess data readiness for AI, including SharePoint and OneDrive oversharing risks, knowledge source governance, grounding, and controls required before broader Copilot and agent adoption.
  • Design Purview protections for AI, including DSPM for AI, DLP, information protection, retention, and auditing, while coordinating these controls with Power Platform and Copilot Studio policies.
  • Govern Dataverse and Dataverse-to-Fabric patterns to ensure application and agent data remains classified, owned, and auditable.
  • Design Power Platform environment strategies, landing zones, environment groups, lifecycle models, naming conventions, ownership standards, and provisioning processes.
  • Lead DLP and connector classification, impact analysis, remediation, ALM, solution packaging, versioning, deployment approvals, and rollback strategies.
  • Operationalize the CoE Starter Kit, Copilot Studio Starter Kit, managed environments, and Entra ID security group and role models.
  • Advise on Microsoft 365 collaboration governance across Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange, including external sharing, information barriers, lifecycle, and retention.
  • Shape Azure governance for AI workloads, including landing zones, Azure Policy, RBAC, tagging, cost controls, Azure OpenAI, and AI Foundry deployments.
  • Define application and SDLC governance for AI solutions covering API Management, Logic Apps, secrets management, code review, model release gates, prompt management, and evaluation processes.
  • Lead multi-pillar engagements, direct consultants and engineers, and maintain the quality of client deliverables.
  • Facilitate executive briefings, AI Opportunity Labs, environment strategy workshops, and security and DLP strategy sessions.
  • Partner with sales and solution engineering on discovery, estimates, work breakdown structures, statements of work, and governance offerings.
  • Produce practical governance frameworks, playbooks, runbooks, decision logs, intake forms, policy templates, reusable intellectual property, and implementation accelerators.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of governance methodologies and help establish the quality standards for foundational and strategic governance work.
