As a Senior Svelte Developer, you will take ownership of building a high-performance web frontend from the ground up for a growing B2B technology platform. You will shape the frontend architecture, establish development standards, and create a scalable design system using SvelteKit, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. Your work will focus on delivering exceptional user experiences through fast page loads, accessibility, responsive design, and measurable improvements in Core Web Vitals. You will define rendering strategies, strengthen testing practices, and introduce modern development workflows that support quality and efficiency. Working in a fully remote, international environment, you will collaborate with product and backend teams to turn business requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions. This is an opportunity to influence core technical decisions, embrace AI-assisted development, and help establish the foundations of a new digital platform.
Frontend Architecture and Development: Design, architect, and build a modern web frontend from scratch using SvelteKit, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and long-term performance.
Rendering Strategy: Define and implement the appropriate rendering approach across Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Static Site Generation (SSG), Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR), and edge rendering where suitable.
Performance Optimization: Establish and maintain measurable performance targets, including Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) below 2.0 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint (INP) below 200 milliseconds, and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) below 0.1, using real-user metrics wherever possible.
Design System Development: Build and maintain a reusable component library and scalable design system in Svelte, including consistent design tokens, component patterns, and styling conventions.
User Interface Implementation: Translate product requirements, wireframes, and design specifications into clean, composable, accessible, and responsive frontend components.
SEO and Web Standards: Implement and maintain essential search engine optimization practices, including semantic HTML, metadata, structured data, sitemaps, and canonical URLs.
Testing and Quality Assurance: Establish frontend testing standards using Vitest for unit testing and Playwright for end-to-end testing, ensuring reliability throughout the development lifecycle.
Developer Experience and Tooling: Configure and maintain frontend development workflows, including linting, formatting, type checking, pre-commit hooks, and continuous integration quality gates.
Code Quality and Technical Leadership: Lead code reviews, promote best practices, document architectural decisions through Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), and contribute to technical planning and architecture discussions.
Backend Integration: Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and contribute to API contract design to ensure efficient communication between frontend and backend systems.
Deployment and Infrastructure: Support CI/CD pipelines and application deployments on AWS, collaborating with relevant engineering teams to maintain reliable delivery processes.
Performance Monitoring: Use tools such as Lighthouse, WebPageTest, and real-user monitoring solutions to identify bottlenecks, assess performance, and continuously improve the user experience.
AI-Assisted Development: Implement and refine AI-powered coding workflows to accelerate development while maintaining strong standards for code quality, testing, security, and maintainability.
