System Architect (MDDI/MBSE)

As a System Architect, you’ll help shape enterprise architecture and digital engineering capabilities for a large-scale transformation program supporting mission-critical transportation and logistics operations. You’ll use Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to develop authoritative system models, architecture views, and end-to-end mission threads. The role combines systems engineering, enterprise architecture, integration, and digital thread strategy within a mature engineering environment. You’ll translate complex operational and technical requirements into scalable architectures while maintaining traceability across requirements, interfaces, workflows, and data. Working with engineering, cybersecurity, functional, and program teams, you’ll help resolve cross-domain dependencies and establish effective architecture governance. This position offers the opportunity to influence enterprise transformation, technology roadmaps, and model-driven decision-making in a highly regulated environment.

• U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
• 7+ years of experience designing enterprise, system, or solution architectures within Department of Defense or comparable environments.
• Demonstrated systems engineering experience, including decomposition of complex systems and modeling of structure, behavior, interfaces, and data.
• Working knowledge of SysML/UML modeling approaches and experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Sparx Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, or GENESYS.
• Familiarity with DoDAF, UAF, or comparable architecture frameworks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to understand needs and translate them into practical architecture solutions.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with a professional and collaborative approach.
• Creativity, adaptability, and structured problem-solving skills.
• 5+ years of hands-on MBSE or digital engineering experience in complex systems environments is preferred.
• Experience supporting defense logistics, transportation, or ERP modernization programs is preferred.
• Experience integrating COTS or ERP platforms with customized government systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud architectures, DevSecOps, and Zero Trust environments such as AWS GovCloud or IL4/IL5 is preferred.
• Knowledge of defense acquisition lifecycles and business process reengineering is beneficial.
• Relevant certifications such as INCOSE CSEP/ESEP, OCSMP, TOGAF, SAFe, AWS, or Azure are preferred.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong customer and vendor relationship management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to follow data standards, policies, and governance requirements.
• Willingness to learn and apply new technologies and methodologies that improve program outcomes.
