This role is responsible for managing and supporting enterprise Windows Server infrastructure across critical IT environments. You will work across Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, patching, virtualization, security, and high-availability systems. The position combines hands-on infrastructure administration with advanced troubleshooting and PowerShell automation. You will help maintain secure, reliable, and highly available Windows workloads while supporting business continuity and disaster recovery. The role also involves infrastructure monitoring, performance optimization, incident management, and technical documentation. It offers an opportunity to work with large-scale enterprise environments and modern Microsoft and virtualization technologies.
The Windows System Engineer will oversee day-to-day administration, support, security, and optimization of enterprise Windows infrastructure while contributing to operational resilience and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include:
- Install, configure, administer, and support Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2025 environments.
- Manage Active Directory Domain Services, including OUs, users, groups, computer accounts, FSMO roles, and Sites & Services.
- Administer and troubleshoot DNS zones, records, DHCP scopes, and related services.
- Create, configure, and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects and enterprise policies.
- Perform server builds, upgrades, migrations, hardening, and decommissioning activities.
- Manage Windows patching using WSUS, SCCM/MECM, or equivalent platforms.
- Troubleshoot operating system, application, authentication, networking, performance, and system-level issues.
- Support Microsoft Failover Clustering, Windows Server roles, and high-availability environments.
- Support Windows workloads running on VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Analyze system performance and optimize infrastructure capacity and reliability.
- Implement and maintain Windows security baselines, hardening standards, and endpoint security controls.
- Troubleshoot authentication technologies and issues involving Kerberos, NTLM, LDAP, certificates, and domain connectivity.
- Manage Windows services, scheduled tasks, event logs, registry settings, and system configurations.
- Support backup, restore, replication, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.
- Develop PowerShell scripts and automation to streamline repetitive administration and operational tasks.
- Monitor infrastructure using enterprise monitoring, logging, and performance-management platforms.
- Participate in incident, problem, change, and service-request management processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, knowledge articles, and infrastructure reports.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call or shift support when required.

- Strong experience administering Windows Server environments, particularly versions 2016, 2019, 2022, and/or 2025.
- Hands-on expertise with Active Directory, including AD DS, OUs, users, groups, FSMO, and Sites & Services.
- Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Windows authentication.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting, automation, and Windows administration.
- Experience with enterprise patching platforms such as WSUS, SCCM/MECM, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization.
- Knowledge of Windows security hardening, security baselines, and endpoint security.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, basic routing, and firewall concepts.
- Experience with Windows monitoring, event logs, performance counters, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Understanding of backup, restore, replication, disaster recovery, and business continuity concepts.
- Familiarity with ITSM processes covering incidents, problems, changes, and service requests.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Ability to document technical solutions, procedures, and operational processes clearly.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working across infrastructure and support teams.
- Ability to work effectively in enterprise environments and participate in on-call or shift support when required.
