This role offers the opportunity to develop, maintain, optimize, and enhance WordPress websites across the full website lifecycle.
You will work with an existing WordPress codebase to deliver reliable solutions that meet business requirements without disrupting existing functionality.
The position combines hands-on WordPress development with SEO, website performance, responsive design, content management, and technical troubleshooting.
You will build custom functionality and integrations while working with themes, plugins, APIs, templates, and modern WordPress tools.
A strong focus on technical SEO and Core Web Vitals will help ensure websites remain discoverable, fast, and user-friendly across devices.
You will also take ownership of diagnosing issues, improving performance, and maintaining stable staging and production environments.

Develop, customize, maintain, and enhance WordPress websites according to business requirements.
Customize WordPress themes, templates, plugins, widgets, and other website components.
Build and manage website pages using Gutenberg and Elementor.
Develop custom functionality using PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and related web technologies.
Work with WordPress Actions, Filters, Hooks, Template Hierarchy, Custom Post Types, and Custom Taxonomies.
Develop and maintain integrations using the WordPress REST API and third-party APIs.
Manage WordPress CMS content, including pages, posts, categories, tags, menus, media, and other site functionality.
Ensure websites provide responsive and consistent experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Implement and maintain on-page and technical SEO requirements, including metadata, URLs, headings, internal linking, sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical URLs, structured data, and image optimization.
Support SEO-friendly content publishing and identify and resolve crawling, indexing, and other technical SEO issues.
Analyze and improve website performance by identifying page-load bottlenecks and optimizing Core Web Vitals.
Optimize caching, images, frontend assets, database queries, and other components affecting website performance.
Troubleshoot WordPress core, theme, plugin, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, and frontend issues, identifying root causes before implementing fixes.
Resolve plugin conflicts, compatibility issues, broken links, 404 errors, redirects, layout problems, and other website issues.
Perform WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates safely while minimizing disruption to existing functionality.
Support website backups, migrations, staging environments, production maintenance, and restoration activities.
Monitor website functionality proactively and identify potential technical issues before they affect users.
Implement production changes carefully and maintain reliable website operations.

Requirements

2+ years of professional experience in WordPress development.
Strong understanding of WordPress CMS, theme and plugin customization, and custom WordPress development.
Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, basic jQuery, MySQL, JSON, and REST APIs.
Hands-on experience with Gutenberg, Elementor, WordPress Template Hierarchy, Custom Post Types, and Custom Taxonomies.
Knowledge of on-page and technical SEO, including experience with tools such as AIOSEO, Yoast SEO, or Rank Math.
Understanding of Core Web Vitals, PageSpeed optimization, caching, image optimization, lazy loading, CDN concepts, and database/query optimization.
Experience working with cPanel and WordPress hosting environments such as Hostinger.
Familiarity with domain and DNS fundamentals, SSL, FTP/SFTP, website migrations, backups and restores, and staging and production environments.
Ability to work comfortably with an existing codebase and understand business requirements before implementing technical solutions.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills, with a careful approach to production changes.
Ability to work independently, manage technical tasks effectively, and deliver reliable solutions without compromising existing website functionality.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience with custom WordPress plugin or theme development is a plus.
Experience with advanced REST API integrations, Google Analytics/GA4, Cloudflare, CDN configuration, and WordPress security or malware troubleshooting is beneficial.
