AS737 - Educated Career Nanny - Upper West Side

A lovely family with two working parents on the Upper West Side is seeking a top notch educated nanny for their two children, ages 2 and 9. The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, 7am-5pm. The family also has a home in upstate NY, so the nanny should be willing to travel occasionally (particularly during the summer months and school holidays) and live-in during that time period. The older child is in school full-time, so most of the care will be for the toddler, though there will be some care of both children in the evenings, as well as on days off from school. 

• →Oversee the morning routine and and accompany the older child to school (within walking distance) 
• →Oversee nap, meal, and hygiene routines
• →Prepare meals for the children 
• →Child related laundry and tidying
• →Engage with the children in a developmentally appropriate way- focusing on education and development with a play-based approach. Focus on explaining the world, discussing the child’s environment, and focusing opportunities for creative discover and play. 
• →Proactively plan outings and activities- the family believes that there is "no bad weather, just bad clothing", and the nannies should feel comfortable with outdoor adventures daily, rain or shine. 

• Experience working with toddlers and school-aged children 
• Knowledgeable about childhood development, with a collaborative approach, but ultimately willing to defer to the parents' role and choices
• Background in childhood development and education 
• Extremely reliable and punctual, as both parents have demanding jobs 
• Warm and caring, with a playful energy and high level of engagement 
• Understanding of household boundaries as the family is quite private 
• Goal oriented- should enjoy setting goals for the children and executing those plans 

• Must be willing to spend weekdays with the family at their home upstate during the summer months and live-in Monday-Friday
• Driving is NOT required, but desired
• Swimming is NOT required, but highly desired
