The role of a Physiotherapist Assistant in aged care is to build strong, positive relationships with our residents and be responsible providing mobility and exercise programs and perform delegated resident treatment plans, under the direction and supervision of the Physiotherapist and in accordance with the philosophy, objectives and framework of Amana Living. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering Amana Living’s award winning model of care and be committed to making a real difference to residents' quality of life.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Plan and organise therapeutic activities under the direction and supervision of a Physiotherapist, Manager and or Registered Nurse.
- →Prepares and conducts resident activities correctly and safely
- →Maintain records, statistics and progress notes as required by the Physiotherapist.
- →Observes residents’ responses to treatment programs, and reports findings to Physiotherapist and/or Registered Nurse
- →Contributes information to resident assessment and personal care evaluation
- →Assists with mobilising and transferring residents – moving from place to place and position to position.
- →Assists with residents’ personal care needs to the extent necessary to ensure resident safety, comfort and satisfactory completion of planned programs
- Evidence of Current Flu vaccinations per Amana Living policies
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance (within 6-months validity)
- Successful completion of pre-employment and reference checks
- Satisfactory completion of an Accredited Physiotherapy Assistants Course
- NDIS Screen Check (or willingness to obtain at interview stage)
- Available to attend a compulsory 2 day induction at our Rivervale Training Institute
- Effective communication skills and the ability to develop understanding relationships with residents
