Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Diagnose and repair large tonnage chillers — air-cooled and water-cooled — including centrifugal, screw, and scroll configurations.
- →Troubleshoot and program DDC/BAS building controls systems at an advanced level.
- →Commission and start up chiller and controls systems, optimizing for peak efficiency.
- →Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues.
- →Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on chillers, cooling towers, pumps, boilers, and supporting equipment.
- →Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
- →Keep accurate, timely documentation of all service work, repairs, and recommendations.
- →Communicate clearly with customers about system conditions, findings, and next steps.
- →Adhere to all safety requirements, EPA standards, and internal company policies.
- →Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and junior technicians when applicable.
Requirements
~1 min read- EPA 608 Universal Certification.
- 5 or more years of commercial HVAC experience with significant exposure to heavy chiller systems.
- Demonstrated experience with BAS/DDC controls platforms.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting capability across both low and high voltage systems.
- Comfortable working independently with limited oversight.
- Valid driver's license in good standing.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces.
- Factory certifications or formal training on major chiller manufacturers.
- Hands-on controls programming or commissioning background.
- Prior experience in hospitals, industrial plants, or large-scale commercial buildings.
