Assistant Teacher - Infant Program | Bridgeland Campus

Fueling Brains Academy is looking for a warm, energetic, and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our Infant Program at our Bridgeland Campus.

This is a hands-on role for an educator who genuinely enjoys working with little ones, understands the importance of responsive care and consistent routines, and thrives as part of a collaborative classroom team.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

As an Assistant Teacher, you’ll work closely with our Lead and Group Teachers to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for our youngest learners.

You’ll:

• Provide attentive, nurturing care and supervision throughout the day
• Support infant routines including feeding, diapering, naps, hygiene, and transitions
• Engage children through play, stories, sensory experiences, movement, and age-appropriate activities
• Help prepare and organize classroom materials and learning spaces
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming classroom environment
• Support required child-to-educator ratios and provide classroom coverage as needed
• Observe and respond to children’s individual needs and cues
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators
• Follow all licensing, health, safety, hygiene, and allergy-management requirements
• Jump in wherever needed to help the classroom and campus run smoothly

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

The essentials:

• Alberta Early Childhood Educator Level 1, 2, or 3 certification – required
• 1–2 years of experience working with young children in a licensed Canadian childcare, daycare, or early learning environment – required
• Previous experience working with infants is strongly preferred
• Comfortable supporting feeding, diapering, nap routines, and other daily care needs
• A caring, patient, reliable, and hands-on approach
• Strong understanding of child safety and supervision
• Ability to work collaboratively in a busy childcare environment
• Flexibility to support different shifts and classroom needs

You’ll also need:

• A valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
• Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR certification, or willingness to obtain it within the required timeframe
• Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor play, classroom setup, and daily cleanup routines
