KingsWay Counsellor - Fixed Term Part Time

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified counsellor to join our small, supportive counselling team on Fridays for 6.5 hours per week during school term time, 8.30am-3.30pm). This is a fixed-term role covering a flexible working arrangement until the end of the school year. It is a value-add role for someone who is passionate about student wellbeing and is suitable for both recent graduates and experienced practitioners. 

Located on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast of Auckland, KingsWay is a high achieving, growing, state integrated Christian school catering for Year 1-13 students, with a current roll of over 2000 students. Our work is inspired by love/aroha, heartened by faith/whakapono in Jesus Christ, and motivated by gospel hope/tūmanako. Our Christian special character is an integral part of our pastoral care service, and the successful candidate is expected to support this.  

About the job

This position will suit someone with:

• Proven ability to counsel children and adolescents from a Christian perspective
• Great relationship and communication skills who can build effective counselling relationships with students, their whānau, staff & external agencies to foster wellbeing

• An existing supervisory relationship
• A degree in counselling
• Either provisional or full membership with NZCCA or NZAC
