On-Call EVS Attendant (Housekeeping)

Kiwanis Nursing Home is looking for Environmental Services (EVS) Attendants!

Kiwanis Nursing Home is a compassionate, resident-centered nursing home dedicated to providing the highest quality of care in a supportive, home-like environment. By joining us, you will be joining approximately 150 other caring and amazing staff members in our 100-bed home in Sussex.

We currently have vacancies for Casual Relief EVS Attendants (no guaranteed hours).

Our EVS Attendants play a key role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. We are seeking self-motivated and detail-oriented individuals who thrive working independently, and are looking to make a positive impact in our home.

Some of what you'll be doing:

• Cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, common areas, and other designated areas;
• Laundry duties, including sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, etc.;
• Replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towel, toilet paper and gloves;
• Communicating with residents, team members, and family members regarding EVS needs;
• Other duties as assigned by the Support Services Manager.

What we're asking for:

• Previous professional cleaning experience an asset;
• High school graduation or equivalent;
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills;
• Self-motivated and able to complete tasks with little supervision;
• Physically capable of performing assigned duties (frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, etc.)
• Flexibility to work all types of shifts (days, evenings, nights) and on a call-in basis;
  
• The successful candidate will be required to complete a medical check, vulnerable sector check, and Department of Social Development background check as a condition of employment.
