Pay Rate/Hours:        $21.15 per hour/25 hours per week



Position Overview

 

KLEO Community Family Life Center (KLEO) is seeking a qualified part-time Student Support Services Coordinator to provide navigational support for all initiatives under KLEO’s Workforce Development Programs. The Student Support Services Coordinator is responsible for student mastery of the NCCER Core or MC3 curriculum—specifically within the TradeUP program—with a specialized focus on the 40+ hours of required construction math necessary for apprenticeship entry exams. The selected individual will uphold the mission and vision of KLEO, while supporting excellence and growth of this program and all initiatives under KLEO’s Workforce Development Programs.



Essential Functions & Responsibilities

 

  • Performance Tracking: Monitor participant attendance and academic progress daily, identifying students who need additional assistance.
  • Intervention: Organize and host make-up sessions, post-assessment retakes, and specialized tutoring services to ensure participants can pass certification exams.
  • Documentation: Maintain computerized records of enrollment assessments and technical training sessions, including the implementation of formal individualized action plans and progress reports for every participant.



Qualifications

 

Education & Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP) certification preferred.

 

Experience

  • Experience in adult literacy, remedial math, or test-taking strategies to assist participants in mastering the 40+ hours of required construction math.
  • Proficiency in the Illinois Works Reporting System (IWRS) or similar Smartsheets-based tracking technology preferred.

 

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team of professionals.
  • Collaborative and team oriented.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy required (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and data management environments).
  • Willing to travel to support program activities (Approximately 10%).
