  • Ability to troubleshoot various issues on plastic components (Gas traps, voids, weld lines, pin push, etc.)
  • Must work shift hours 2:30pm to 11:00pm plus applicable Overtime when available.
  • Disassembles and assembles molds, analyzes and solves mold problems including flashing conditions, galling, venting, cooling problems, Assembles, repairs, inspects, cleans and polishes molds using skill and care while handling
  • Understand blueprints, sketches, general instructions to disassemble, inspect, repair, and assemble plastic injection molds
  • Perform highly critical assembly operations, refitting, re-venting or making adjustments as necessary to the mold to achieve designed objectives
  • Answers technical questions from Manufacturing departments as required
  • Maintains equipment maintenance, and repair history records, details of work performed, parts replaced, and the labor hours, as required
  • Operate machine shop equipment (Mill, Surface grinder, Lathe)
  • Constructs and repairs machine shop tools, gauges, fixtures, jigs or dies for use within the company
  • Ability to solves problems relating to unusual material, work-holding arrangements, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production process
  • Provide guidance and training to lower-level technicians
  • Performs mold repair work on cavities and cores due to damage or wear
  • Trouble shoot and repair all brands of Hot runner systems
  • Completes Engineering changes and revisions to molds
  • Interprets drawings and evaluates machining methods on assignments requiring instructions from Toolroom Supervisor on intricate machining setups
  • Perform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions
  • Stones and polishes mold components

 

  • Report to work on time every day and be at the assigned workstation on time.
  • Must be able to communicate well with team and upper management.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standards.
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Able to follow instructions and safety procedures (wearing PPE).

 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Familiar with electrical and hydraulic circuits using diagrams, blueprints, and electrical circuit test meters and methods is a plus
  • Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and blueprints
  • Ability to perform basic math and interpret and executive work instructions

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

Ability to frequently lift objects that are 25 pounds or more.

Capable of using hand tools and have ability to operate machines when needed.

Warehouse environment is an uncontrolled atmosphere building. The manufacturing environment you will be exposed to dust, odors, and noise.  Extensive visits to the outdoor shipping dock and holding yard required.
