Lawson Lundell LLP is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Banking and Debt Financing group in our Vancouver office. The successful candidate will be joining a top-performing practice group known for its sophisticated work and diverse client base. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to contribute as a key member of a collaborative team. The regular working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.


Standard Responsibilities

  • Handle billing, including preparation and distribution of monthly invoices
  • Format, revise, and finalize legal documents
  • Conduct due diligence searches
  • Manage funds for loan transactions
  • Prepare financing statements, amendments, and discharges in the Personal Property Registry (PPR)
  • Compile executed documents and security packages
  • Draft correspondence, including covering letters, payout letters, and memoranda
  • Proofread documents with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Open new client files and matters
  • Prepare and send engagement letters
  • Prepare expense reports
  • Liaise with legal assistants, paralegals, lawyers, and clients regarding file progress
  • Provide overflow support and perform general administrative duties as required


Qualifications

  • Legal Administrative Assistant certificate from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant
  • Previous experience in the Banking and Debt Financing practice area is an asset
  • Proven senior-level experience supporting lawyers in a high-volume practice
  • Demonstrated expertise in legal billing and word processing
  • Experience conducting due diligence searches
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a professional team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Highly dependable, adaptable, and professional with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills, with a mature and courteous approach
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills in English


The typical hiring range for this position is $72,000 - $85,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.
