About the Role
~1 min readWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting team who will report directly to the Assistant Controller.
As Ledgebrook continues to scale, our Finance function is also scaling - we are building a team of professionals that have deep insurance and finance expertise, are passionate about leveraging AI and high-tech systems, and are excited to support a company that is building from the ground up.
This role will be responsible for key areas of the monthly and quarterly close, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting support, and accounting analysis across multiple legal entities.
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Assistant Controller and broader Finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while helping strengthen accounting processes, controls, and scalability as the organization grows.
This position is well suited for an accountant who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, enjoys taking ownership of accounting processes, and is interested in expanding their knowledge of insurance accounting.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Prepare consolidated accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- →Own key components of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- →Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure transactions are properly recorded in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- →Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- →Mentor and supervise Staff Accountant.
- →Assist with documentation and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures.
- →Leverage modern finance tools and AI-based solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting insights.
- →Assist in identifying process improvements and automation of accounting workflows.
- → Support external audit processes and preparation of supporting schedules and documentation.
- →Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the company’s internal control environment.
- →Partner with cross-functional teams (operations, product, tech & data) to support ad hoc projects and new business initiatives, as required in a scaling environment.
