Job Title: Senior Architect (Design) – UPDA Certified Location: Qatar Department: Design / Engineering Experience Required: 10–12 years 1. Purpose of the Role To lead and manage architectural design activities across construction projects, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and coordinated design deliverables aligned with project requirements, local regulations, and international standards. 2. Key Responsibilities A. Design Leadership Lead architectural design development from concept to detailed design stage. Ensure all designs align with project brief, client requirements, and budget constraints. Review and approve architectural drawings, specifications, and material selections. B. Coordination & Integration Coordinate with structural, MEP, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions. Manage design interfaces between consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Resolve design conflicts and technical issues proactively. C. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and local authority requirements. Liaise with authorities for design approvals and submissions. Maintain adherence to international codes and best practices. D. Construction Support Provide technical support during the construction phase. Review shop drawings, material submittal, and RFIs. Conduct site visits to ensure design implementation is accurate. E. Quality & Documentation Maintain high standards of design quality and documentation. Ensure timely delivery of design packages as per project schedule. Participate in design reviews and value engineering exercises. Requirements Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred). UPDA/MMUP Certification (Grade A or B preferred). 10–12 years of experience in architectural design within construction projects. Strong experience in design consultancy or contractor design teams. Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools, etc.). Strong knowledge of local regulations in Qatar.
