Social Worker – Child Protection – Gateshead

• →Deliver direct social work services to children and families in need of care and support.
• →Respond to safeguarding concerns in line with the Wales Safeguarding Procedures.
• →Conduct safeguarding investigations and complete risk assessments.
• →Develop outcome-focused care and protection plans tailored to individual needs.
• →Work in partnership with families, carers, and other professionals to safeguard children.
• →Ensure statutory timescales for assessments and reviews are met.
• →Contribute to multi-agency meetings, including strategy discussions and child protection conferences.
• →Prepare and present reports for legal and safeguarding meetings.
• →Promote early intervention and preventative services to reduce the need for managed care.
• →Support placement arrangements and long-term planning for children when necessary.
• →Maintain professional accountability for decisions and resource allocation.
• →Encourage participation of children and families in planning and decision-making.
• →Ensure compliance with legislation, council policies, and financial regulations.

• Hold a Social Work England registration.
• Be eligible to work in the UK.
• Hold a full UK licence.
• Social Work Qualification, degree or equivalent.
• At least 2 years’ experience as a social worker within children’s services.
