The Radiology Unit Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the Radiology Department, helping ensure efficient patient flow, accurate scheduling, effective communication, and a positive patient experience. This position works closely with radiologists, technologists, nurses, providers, patients, and other hospital departments.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Greet and assist patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- →Answer telephone calls and respond to patient, provider, and staff inquiries.
- →Schedule and coordinate radiology examinations according to department procedures as needed.
- →Coordinate and assist with patient flow throughout the department.
- →Communicate with ordering providers and hospital departments regarding exams, scheduling, and patient needs.
- →Monitor patient arrivals to support efficient department operations.
- →Maintain required documentation and electronic records within Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- →Assist technologists and other clinical staff as needed.
- →Follow hospital, departmental, HIPAA, safety, and confidentiality policies.
- →Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
~1 min read- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Maintain CPR certification
- LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
