As a Stationary Engineer within Corporate Advisory & Solutions, you will be responsible for the continuous operation, monitoring, and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, electrical, and plumbing systems. This role focuses on maintaining optimal system performance through routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely response to operational issues to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted building operations.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Operate, monitor, and maintain central plant systems, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, and associated equipment
- →Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on building systems and equipment
- →Monitor building automation systems (BAS) and equipment readings; adjust controls to maintain optimal performance and efficiency
- →Respond to and troubleshoot system alarms, equipment failures, and tenant service requests, escalating complex issues as needed
- →Maintain accurate logs of equipment operation, inspections, and maintenance activities
- →Ensure all systems are operating within established parameters and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- →Support start-up, shutdown, and seasonal changeover of mechanical systems
- →Assist with contractor coordination and oversight for specialized repairs and maintenance
- →Conduct routine building and equipment inspections to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
- →Replace filters, belts, and other system components as required
- →Follow company safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE; ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, and NFPA regulations; report hazards and participate in safety programs
- →Communicate effectively with tenants, vendors, property management, and internal teams to support efficient operations
- →Provide guidance and support to junior technicians as needed
- →Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance technical expertise
- →Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

- Two to three years of related experience in building operations or central plant systems, or equivalent trade/certification experience
- Stationary engineering experience preferred
- Relevant licenses or certifications (e.g., Stationary Engineer license, CFC/EPA certification) preferred or willingness to obtain as required by local/state regulations
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, with an emphasis on central plant operations
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and equipment monitoring
- Basic proficiency with computer systems, including work order platforms and Microsoft Outlook
- Familiarity with fire/life safety systems and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and code requirements
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with tenants, vendors, contractors, and internal teams
- Ability to work flexible hours, including after-hours, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations as needed
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, and safe work practices
Requirements

This position is 100% in-office. The role requires working in office during standard business hours. Remote work or telecommuting is not an option for this position.
