The Payroll Administrator is responsible for preparing and processing weekly payrolls accurately and on time. This role is responsible for employee setup and terminations, on-going maintenance of employee records including pay rate updates and preparation of union reporting. Additionally, the Payroll Administrator supports the Payroll Manager in the development, implementation and maintenance of payroll policies, procedures, and related documentation.
Requirements
~1 min read- Understanding of federal, state and local wage and hour laws, including FLSA, tax regulations and garnishment rules.
- Knowledge of how benefits such as health insurance, 401K, PTO impact payroll.
- Awareness of laws affecting employee compensation and classifications such as exempt versus non-exempt, independent contractors, etc.
- ADP Lyric Time & Attendance experience is preferred.
- Exposure to union payroll environment a plus.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (Vlookup & pivot tables).
- Detailed-oriented with ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy.
- Quickly and easily adapt to change and shifting priories with enthusiasm.
- Strong problem solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven and fast paced environment.
- High level of integrity with the ability to maintain complete confidentiality.
Responsibilities
~1 min readThis is an individual contributor role and occasionally directed in several aspects of work. This role will gain exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. May be required to work on projects and matters of limited complexity in a support role.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience using a major, payroll software such as ADP, Paylocity, Paycom, Paycor, Workday, or Paychex.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Regularly required to talk and hear, both in person and by phone or web meetings.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to read and interpret data on a computer screen or printed documents.
- Work is performed in a typical office environment with moderate noise levels, in a climate-controlled environment with heating and air conditioning.
- Potential for remote work or hybrid work arrangement.
- May be required to lift up to 30 pounds.
Travel may be required on a very limited basis to attend seminars, conferences, networking events, etc. All travel must be approved by direct leader and level up leader.
