ABOUT THE LUCAS MUSEUM OF NARRATIVE ART
Opening in September 2026, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is dedicated to illustrated storytelling.  Founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the museum’s collection features works by artists including Norman Rockwell, Kadir Nelson, Jessie Willcox Smith, N. C. Wyeth, Beatrix Potter, Judith F. Baca, Frida Kahlo, and Maxfield Parrish; as well as comic art legends such as Winsor McCay, Jack Kirby, Frank Frazetta, Alison Bechdel, Chris Ware, and R. Crumb; and photographers Gordon Parks, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Dorothea Lange. The Museum also houses the Lucas Archives, containing models, props, concept art, and costumes from Lucas’s filmmaking career. 
 
Designed by Ma Yansong of MAD with a landscape by Mia Lehrer of Studio-MLA, the Museum is in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, on an 11-acre campus that includes new green space and a 300,000-square-foot building with galleries, two theaters, a library, restaurant, café, retail store, and community spaces.  
 

Reporting to the Manager, Retail Warehouse, the Retail Warehouse Associate plays a vital behind-the-scenes role within the Revenue & Engagement department, supporting the Museum’s retail experience. As a steward of merchandise, this position ensures items are received, handled, and delivered with care and precision while maintaining a seamless flow of inventory from the warehouse to the museum store. 

This role also serves as a trusted driver, responsible for the safe and timely transport of goods between locations, upholding high standards of safety, reliability, and operational excellence. 

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying quantities, condition, and alignment with purchase orders, packing slips, and transfer documentation 

  • Unpack, label, and organize merchandise to preserve product integrity, accessibility, and efficient stock flow 

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, audits, and timely updates in inventory management systems or handheld devices 

  • Replenish the museum store in a timely manner, partnering with store staff to support merchandising priorities, launches, and seasonal product flow 

  • Pick, pack, and prepare merchandise for internal transfers, store requests, and customer fulfillment with accuracy and efficiency 

  • Process damaged goods, returns, and discrepancies according to established procedures, escalating issues as needed 

  • Help reduce loss and shrink by handling merchandise carefully, maintaining secure storage practices, and reporting variances promptly 

  • Uphold a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment that reflects operational excellence and supports OSHA-compliant practices 

  • Load and unload goods with care, recognizing the value and craftsmanship of each item 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required 

  • Valid CA Driver License 

  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse, retail, logistics, or a related operational environment 

  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment 

  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) preferred 

  • Familiarity with inventory systems, handheld scanners, and stock management practices 

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy in receiving, stocking, and fulfillment tasks 

  • Reliable, team-oriented, and able to communicate effectively across warehouse and retail operations 

  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and maintaining OSHA-compliant operations in California 

  • Combination of warehouse and retail environments 

  • Exposure to varying weather conditions while loading, unloading, and transporting merchandise 

  • May require early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays 

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. 

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks
