Leading the future in luxury electric and mobility
At Lucid, we set out to introduce the most captivating, luxury electric vehicles that elevate the human experience and transcend the perceived limitations of space, performance, and intelligence. Vehicles that are intuitive, liberating, and designed for the future of mobility.

We plan to lead in this new era of luxury electric by returning to the fundamentals of great design – where every decision we make is in service of the individual and environment. Because when you are no longer bound by convention, you are free to define your own experience.

Come work alongside some of the most accomplished minds in the industry. Beyond providing competitive salaries, we’re providing a community for innovators who want to make an immediate and significant impact. If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.

We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Staff Engineer, Infotainment Platform to design and deliver the foundational software layers for next-generation automotive platforms. This role will be responsible for board support package (BSP) architecture, low-level driver development, and in-vehicle communication systems, enabling scalable, high-performance infotainment and domain controller platforms.

You will work at the intersection of hardware, OS, and vehicle networks, playing a critical role in shaping the software-defined vehicle (SDV) architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead board bring-up activities for automotive SoCs (Qualcomm, NVIDIA, Renesas, TI, etc.)
  • Architect and develop Linux/QNX BSP, including kernel configuration and customization
  • Develop and optimize bootloaders (U-Boot, LK) for fast and reliable system startup
  • Design and implement device drivers (SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe, USB, display, audio, networking)
  • Optimize system performance (boot time, CPU/memory usage, power management)

  • Define and implement vehicle communication stacks supporting:
    • CAN / CAN-FD / LIN
    • Automotive Ethernet (100/1000BASE-T1)
    • SOME/IP, DoIP, TCP/IP-based services
  • Design gateway and domain controller communication architectures
  • Develop vehicle abstraction layer (VAL) and service interfaces for upper layers (middleware / Android Automotive)
  • Integrate diagnostics (UDS/OBD-II) and vehicle health monitoring systems

  • Lead hardware-software integration and system bring-up
  • Collaborate with silicon vendors, Tier-1 suppliers, and internal teams
  • Debug complex system issues using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, CAN analyzers, and kernel logs
  • Ensure platform stability, scalability, and production readiness

  • Define scalable, modular platform architecture across vehicle programs
  • Conduct design reviews and architecture governance
  • Mentor engineers and lead cross-functional collaboration
  • Drive best practices in CI/CD, code quality, and platform reuse

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in embedded systems and automotive software
  • Strong expertise in Linux BSP development and kernel internals
  • Hands-on experience with device driver development
  • Deep understanding of vehicle communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, SOME/IP, DoIP)
  • Experience working with automotive SoCs and hardware bring-up
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded debugging tools
  • Experience with Yocto or similar build systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with QNX BSP development
  • Familiarity with AUTOSAR Classic/Adaptive
  • Experience with Android Automotive OS (HAL / vehicle integration)
  • Exposure to zonal or domain controller architectures
  • Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262)
  • Experience with vehicle cybersecurity (secure boot, encrypted communication)
  • Cloud connectivity and OTA update integration experience
