FBO Quality, Safety & Training Manager
Qualification
-Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Safety Management, or related field
Recognized certifications in:
-Safety Management Systems (SMS)
-Quality Management Systems (QMS) (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor)
-Formal training in aviation auditing / compliance
Experience
- Typically 5–10 years in aviation, with at least:
- 3–5 years in safety, quality/ compliance roles
-Experience within: FBO / Ground Handling / Business Aviation (preferred) Proven track record in:
-Managing audits (internal & external)
-Incident investigation and reporting
-Developing and delivering training programs
-Safety Management Systems (SMS) implementation and oversight
-Quality Assurance and Audit Management
- Risk assessment and hazard identification
-Root cause analysis (e.g., ICAO methodology)
-Training program design and competency frameworks
Knowledge of:
-Human Factors in aviation
-Emergency Response Planning (ERP)
-Train-the-Trainer / Instructional Techniques certification
Experience delivering:
-Safety training
-Airside/ramp safety induction
-Compliance training
Responsibilities
- Managing the Quality function and maintaining open channels of communication with the management and personnel;
- Maintain QA audit, ensure non-conformance reports raised are addressed and that corrective actions are implemented as required.
- Setting up systems within the department as well as development of departmental procedures;
- Personal authorization issue and control process;
- Company and technical documentation control including EJME Management Manual;
- Preparing and presenting training to personnel in respect of Management Manuals and supporting documentation, as well as Aviation Regulations;
- Attend ‘Pre’ and ‘Post’ audit meetings and accompany any third party auditors during the audit process being conducted;
- Monitor and ensure compliance with new regulatory requirements as and when published/advised by Civil Aviation Authorities
- Approval of Subcontractors/ Suppliers providing product/services to the FBO;
- Monitor the development and documentation of the internal control systems within the division
- Implementation and maintenance of the Q-Pulse and SMS system
- The organization and management of the ExecuJet Safety Programme in its entirety
- Management and supervision of the Safety Committee;
- Responsible for CAPAs’ relating to postholder safety function.
- Risk assessments are carried out and findings directed to the responsible people and are prioritized as per the risks ranking.
- Corrective and preventative actions are recommended are communicated to the responsible manager for implementation.
- Continual monitoring of the SMS system procedures and regulations to ensure EJME remains in compliance national and international standards, and management are kept informed of any changes
- Maintaining confidentiality and integrity of the SMS
- Continual development of the company SMS training presentation
- Delivery of the company SMS training
- Reviews existing training programs; suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of clientele, the organization, or the industry
- Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective
- Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry
- Collaborates with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration for and participation in outside training programs
- Ensures that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved training budget.
- Prepares and implements training budget
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Background
Corporate Aviation is essential
Languages
Fluency in written and spoken English Essential.
Additional languages is advantageous
