About the Role

One of our operating companies, is looking for a Systems Engineer, Level 3 to join their team in Brisbane.

In this role, you will take the lead on complex technical challenges, drive modern cloud and infrastructure projects and play a key role in delivering reliable, secure and high-performing IT environments for strategic clients.

This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge Microsoft technologies, mentor junior engineers and make a real impact in a collaborative, growth-focused team.

Responsibilities

Technical Support & Escalation

→Act as the final escalation point for complex technical issues and critical incidents
→Troubleshoot advanced server, cloud, network, and endpoint environments
→Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and maintain clear technical documentation
→Ensure SLAs are met for priority incidents and outages

Infrastructure & Systems Management

→Design, deploy, and maintain Windows Server environments (2016–2025)
→Administer Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, including hybrid identity
→Manage VMware and Hyper-V virtualisation platforms
→Handle system patching, upgrades and lifecycle management

Cloud & Microsoft 365

→Lead Microsoft 365 migrations including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams
→Manage Azure environments including VMs, Storage, Networking, and Load Balancers
→Maintain Microsoft 365 E5 security and compliance solutions

Networking & Security

→Support switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and WAN/LAN environments
→Administer WatchGuard firewalls and implement security best practices
→Strengthen environments with MFA, Conditional Access, and endpoint protection

Backup & Disaster Recovery

Project Delivery

Mentoring & Collaboration

3+ years’ experience in a senior IT support or engineering role (MSP experience preferred)
Strong experience with Windows Desktop and Windows Server environments
Solid networking knowledge across TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs
Hands-on experience with firewalls, routers, switches, and UTMs
Expertise in VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft 365, and Azure
Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, SharePoint Online, and Teams
Exposure to Microsoft 365 security and compliance tools including Defender and Purview
