→Demonstrates professionalism and excellent customer service, communication and patient assistance both in person and on the phone.
→Schedules patient appointments timely and manages physician’s schedule according to their preferences, performs reminder calls.
→Answers the telephone, screens calls and takes messages from patients and processes as directed by MD.
→Documents patient information in their record appropriately and accurately, works with others on the care team to acquire additional documentation if needed.
→Verifies insurance and ensures registration and payer information is correct and current.
→Monitors and corrects registration errors, uses insurance websites when needed to confirm patient eligibility.
→Obtain prior authorizations (radiology and/or medication) using web based applications or via phone.
→Assists patient in scheduling any follow up testing (radiology, lab, or specialist)
→Prepares correspondence to physicians and patients.
