Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Demonstrates professionalism and excellent customer service, communication and patient assistance both in person and on the phone.
- →Schedules patient appointments timely and manages physician’s schedule according to their preferences, performs reminder calls.
- →Answers the telephone, screens calls and takes messages from patients and processes as directed by MD.
- →Documents patient information in their record appropriately and accurately, works with others on the care team to acquire additional documentation if needed.
- →Verifies insurance and ensures registration and payer information is correct and current.
- →Monitors and corrects registration errors, uses insurance websites when needed to confirm patient eligibility.
- →Obtain prior authorizations (radiology and/or medication) using web based applications or via phone.
- →Assists patient in scheduling any follow up testing (radiology, lab, or specialist)
- →Prepares correspondence to physicians and patients.
- →Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
~1 min read- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong data entry skills and ability to work with computer applications
- Organized with a strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment
- Strong and comfortable communicating with patients, peers, and physicians
- Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and with co-workers in a team
- Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information.
